It is a sign of warming between the two countries: a secret meeting between Israeli President Isaac Herzog and the Hashemite ruler.

Isaac Herzog, whose role is mostly representative, visited the palace of King Abdullah II in Amman.

He claims to have spent a very positive and even decisive evening there, according to a statement issued by the Israeli presidency.

It was a question of strategic subjects, one indicates.

For President Herzog, there seems to be a desire in the region to progress and exchange.

3rd visit of an Israeli politician

This is the third trip by an Israeli politician to Amman.

Last July, the head of government Naftali Bennett had talks with the monarch in the Jordanian capital, followed by his Minister of Defense Benny Gantz.

A series of agreements were then signed by the two countries.
