Al Tayer added that Dubai Executive Council Resolution No. (6) of 2021 regulating the provision of district cooling service in the Emirate of Dubai aims to create a legislative framework regulating aspects related to providing district cooling service in the emirate to raise the efficiency of the operation of district cooling units and activities related to power generation. He pointed out that, “With regard to the amount of savings in electricity resulting from the use of the district cooling system, during the year 2020, the district cooling system saved about 648 gigawatt-hours, which is equivalent to the consumption of about 36,000 homes, and these results support our efforts to transform Dubai has become a world-leading platform for efficient energy and water demand management.”
