They stressed to "Emirates Today" the importance of the timing of the decision, saying that the decision came at a perfectly appropriate time, and coincides with the start of the season of exhibitions and major events in the country, especially the "Expo 2020 Dubai", the "EDIPEC" exhibition, and the Energy Summit.

They expected that the decision would lead to an increase in incoming tourism to Abu Dhabi by up to 100%, and hotel occupancy to exceed 90%, in addition to increasing investment and trade and supporting retail trade in Abu Dhabi.

The Committee for the Management of Emergencies, Crises and Disasters caused by the Corona pandemic in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi announced, yesterday, the update of travel procedures for citizens, residents and visitors coming from outside the country, and it will start working as of Sunday, the fifth of September 2021.

In accordance with the new procedures, the committee approved the abolition of quarantine for all vaccinators coming to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi from outside the country.

The new procedures stipulate that vaccinated and non-vaccinated passengers, before taking off to the emirate, are required to present a negative nasal swab test (PCR) result within 48 days before the flight.

She explained that vaccinated travelers coming from the "green list" destinations must perform a nasal swab examination upon arrival, and another on the sixth day, while vaccinated tourists coming from other destinations must perform a nasal swab examination upon arrival and on both the fourth and eighth days, in the event of staying In the emirate, without the need for quarantine.

Especially since it is expected that the occupancy rates of Dubai hotels will be high, and therefore it supports Abu Dhabi hotels and raises the occupancy rates in them.

He pointed out that the decision has several positive effects on the increase in air traffic and the number of visitors to commercial shopping centers in the emirate.

Ibrahim agreed that the decision supports "Expo 2020 Dubai", and facilitates the movement of visitors from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and vice versa, to visit the exhibition, expecting high hotel occupancy in Dubai, at a time when some reside in Abu Dhabi, which supports the capital's hotels to benefit from the exhibition.

He believed that the decision will support investment in the hotel sector, especially that hotel room prices will gradually rise due to the increasing demand for them.

He added that many countries, especially the main markets exporting tourism to Abu Dhabi, have made great strides in providing vaccinations to their residents, which is in the interest of significantly increasing the number of visitors from these countries.
