A sign of the times, even the sportiest brands are going electric: this is the case of Mercedes-AMG, which will present its first plug-in hybrid vehicle, the GT 63 SE Performance, at the IAA in Munich.
This 4-door sedan has a V8 and an electric motor placed on the rear axle, all developing the impressive power of 843 hp, and a torque of 1,400 Nm!
Enough to kill the 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds.
If the battery only has a capacity of 6.4 kWh, it has liquid cooling allowing it to operate at an optimum temperature.
However, its low capacity only allows driving in electric mode for about ten kilometers.
And if the emissions measured at 196 g / km remain high, the GT 63 SE Performance is still doing much better than the petrol versions, while offering more power.
Mercedes is also announcing that there will be other hybrid versions in the AMG range.
