Dubai Economy emphasized the importance of supporting and empowering the private sector, as it is a partner in formulating and implementing economic policies on the ground, which stimulates economic growth.

The business movement report issued by the commercial registration and licensing sector in the Dubai Economy revealed that the total commercial registration and licensing transactions completed during the first half of 2021 reached 197,119 transactions, compared to 150,659 transactions during the first half of 2020, with a growth rate of 31%. This reflects the efforts made by the Dubai Economy to provide value-added services to customers in order to facilitate the conduct of business and commercial activities.

The total renewal transactions during the first half of this year amounted to 75,670 transactions, compared to 73,813 renewal transactions that took place during the first half of 2020, with a growth rate of 2.5%.

The total number of transactions for automatically renewing licenses through text messages reached 45,186.

The report stated that the commercial name reservation process recorded 32,085 procedures, compared to 21,475 procedures during the first half of 2020, with a growth rate of 49%, and the total number of initial approvals reached 25,488 procedures, compared to 17,575 procedures, with a growth rate of 45%.

The total number of commercial permits reached 6,507, compared to 5,417 permits during the first half of 2020, with a growth rate of 20%.

In addition, 31,000 new licenses were issued during the first half of 2021, compared to 17,478 new licenses during the first half of 2020, with a growth rate of 77%.

The report indicated that the new licenses issued during the first half of 2021 were characterized by their diversity according to the category of the license, at the forefront of which was "professional" by 59%, followed by "commercial" by 39.5%, and the rest of the percentages were distributed among tourism and industrial.

According to the main regions in the Emirate of Dubai, the "Bur Dubai" region acquired a total of 19,959 thousand licenses, followed by the "Deira" region, which registered 11,008 thousand licenses, and then the "Hatta" region with 33 new commercial licenses.

As for the distribution of these new licenses in the most prominent sub-areas of Dubai, they were: Burj Khalifa, Al Fahidi, Al Khabaisi, Port Saeed, Trade Center 1, Al Barsha 1, Al Murar, Al Quoz 3, Naif, and Warqat Al Bateen.
