Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Co., Ltd. announced that they will start selling the mini vehicle-sized EV = electric vehicle that they are jointly developing at the beginning of next year.

If the government subsidy is used, the purchase price will be about 2 million yen, and the focus is on whether it will be a momentum for the spread of EVs.

According to the announcement, the two companies will sell EVs of the same size as the mini vehicles under development from the beginning of next year.

The distance that can be run on one charge is about 170 km, and if the national subsidy is the same as this year, the purchase price will be about 2 million yen.

If you also use the subsidy system that the prefecture or municipality has set up, it will be even lower.

As cars become more electrified, there are a series of plans to launch small EVs such as mini vehicles in Japan, with Honda planning to launch them in 2024 and Suzuki planning to launch them in 2025.

However, the ratio of EVs to new car sales is still less than 1%, and the focus will be on the momentum for popularization by introducing EVs of the same size as mini vehicles, which account for nearly 40% of new cars.
