A decision taken in order to "guarantee the rest and tranquility" of the Marseillais.

In a press release, the city of Marseille announces the ban for night grocery stores to open between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

This decision is applicable every day from August 23 until August 31 inclusive, then from Thursday to Sunday between September 1 and October 31.

"The public space must remain a lively place and where all Marseillaise and Marseillais meet, but Marseille nightlife can not be done to the detriment of the tranquility of residents," said the town hall.
