The increase in natural gas reserves and production has achieved remarkable results.
During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the total investment in oil and gas exploration and development was 1.36 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 7%.
In 2020, the national natural gas output was 192.5 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, and the output growth exceeded 10 billion cubic meters for four consecutive years.
The consumption of natural gas has grown steadily.
In 2020, natural gas consumption will be 328 billion cubic meters, an increase of 134.8 billion cubic meters compared to 2015, an increase of 70%.
During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, compared with coal with the same calorific value of new natural gas consumption, emission reductions of 570 million tons of carbon dioxide and 6.3 million tons of sulfur dioxide have been achieved.
The construction of gas storage facilities has accelerated.
As of the heating season in 2020, the national gas storage capacity reached 23.4 billion cubic meters, accounting for about 7.2% of natural gas consumption, an increase of 2.9 percentage points from 2015.
The high-quality development of the natural gas industry has also become an important engine driving investment growth.
During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, direct investment in natural gas industries such as exploration and development, infrastructure construction, equipment manufacturing and downstream utilization is about 3 trillion yuan.
