In this position, she will replace the long-standing Germany boss Frank Riemensperger.

The consulting company announced this to its employees on Thursday.

Riemensperger, who will be 59 years old in September, is leaving Accenture after 32 years.

According to the company, the computer scientist is about to retire.

Riemensperger had headed Accenture's country group since 2009.

Christina Raab currently works in Accenture's Munich office.

She is the first woman to lead a group of countries at Accenture in Europe.

The business administration graduate has been working for the consulting company for more than 20 years and is currently head of the “Products” division, which includes important sectors such as the automotive industry, consumer goods manufacturers, pharmaceuticals and logistics.

Accenture has grown rapidly in recent years - also through numerous acquisitions. Around the world, more than 550,000 employees now work for the consulting company.
