The raid was carried out on Tuesday August 17 by Turkish drones.

This time, Turkey was targeting a hospital in an area where an Iraqi brigade is operating close to the PKK, the Kurdistan Workers' Party.

Among the victims are four members of this brigade but also employees of the clinic, provide municipal services in Sinjar.

Drones

Last June, Turkey had already used drones to strike

a Kurdish refugee camp in Makhmour, much further inside Iraqi territory.

Ankara accuses Baghdad of not acting against the PKK which it qualifies as terrorist and intervenes on Iraqi territory by means of drones but also on the ground.

Four Turkish soldiers were killed in Iraq last week.

Iraqi sovereignty violations

Iraq, for its part, denounces violations of its sovereignty but without daring to speak out against Turkey, its main trading partner.

This Wednesday August 18 again, the National Security Council condemned what it qualified as "

unilateral military actions which violate the principles of good neighborliness

" but without openly mentioning this strike nor naming its powerful neighbor.
