State television showed footage of these ceremonies insisting that physical distancing was observed by worshipers.
Similarly, the authorities had banned these ceremonies in closed places, but these instructions were not always followed.

Hospitals are full and patients are struggling to find certain medicines.
In recent days, the daily death toll has surpassed 600 cases, while some officials say that figure should be doubled or tripled.
Raïssi promises to buy 30 million vaccines
In the media and on social networks, criticism is mounting against the delay in vaccination.
In fact, the authorities initially favored the production of the vaccine locally by delaying the purchase of vaccines abroad.
The new president Ebrahim Raïssi has promised the purchase of 30 million vaccines by the end of September.
Which is far from sufficient to vaccinate the entire population.
Iran has 80 million inhabitants, so at least 160 million vaccines will be needed to control the pandemic.
