Data show that from 2015 to 2020, the output value of Hubei's strategic emerging industries will increase from 1.5 trillion yuan to 2.5 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 11%, which is 5.9 percentage points higher than the GDP growth rate.

The added value of the province's high-tech industries increased from 502.894 billion yuan to 868.41 billion yuan, an increase of 72.68%.

In 2020, the added value of the province's high-tech manufacturing industry will grow by 4.1%, 10.2 percentage points faster than that of the above-scale industries, accounting for 10.2% of the added value of the above-scale industries.

  Chen Xinwu, director of the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, said that during the 14th Five-Year Plan, Hubei has advantages, needs, and motivation to cultivate and develop strategic emerging industries.

Hubei is a major province of science and education, with 129 colleges and universities, more than 100 various scientific research institutions, and 73 academicians of the two academies.
