By last month, major mobile phone companies have abolished the current standard of paying a large amount of fees in favor of acquiring new contracts for large-capacity plans with higher charges over the evaluation system of retailers.

While receiving administrative guidance from the Japan Fair Trade Commission, it will be interesting to see if this review will establish a selling method that takes into account the needs of users.

Regarding mobile phone retailers, the Japan Fair Trade Commission will select the most suitable plan in June, as retailers may excessively solicit large-capacity plans that users do not need for major mobile phones. We provided administrative guidance because it was not desirable from the viewpoint.

Under these circumstances, KDDI and Softbank have abolished the current standard of paying a large amount of fees by preferentially acquiring new contracts for large-capacity plans with higher charges for the evaluation system of dealers by last month.

It is in line with NTT DoCoMo, which was abolished two years ago.

For retailers, commissions received from mobile phone companies according to the number of new contracts are a pillar of revenue.

In a survey conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, more than 40% of salespeople answered that they had solicited a high-priced plan without carefully confirming the user's intentions, and this review was based on the needs of the user. It will be noticed whether the selling method will take root.
