Lebanon: gas tank explosion injured arrive in Beirut

It is a day of national mourning this Monday, August 16 in Lebanon, in shock after a new tragedy.

In the north of the country, the explosion of a gasoline tank on the night of Saturday to Sunday left at least 27 dead and dozens injured civilians and soldiers.

In the midst of a fuel shortage, people had gathered to get gasoline from this tank, seized earlier by the army.

A seriously burned wounded person is transported this Sunday, August 15.

He is one of the victims of

a gasoline tank explosion

in northern Lebanon.

It is the eleventh to be transferred to the capital.

Pierre Yared, director of the hospital, explains the situation: “ 

Most of them are in critical condition.

We have three who are in critical and serious condition because they have more than 80% burns

.

The more the patient is burned, the more frequent the complications. 

"

Insecurity

In Tripoli, the other city where the wounded are treated, burn victims are also in serious condition.

Human remains must also be identified, while families yesterday searched for their missing loved one.

The explosion of the north rekindles the feeling of insecurity.

Doctor Pierre Yared is sorry “

anything is possible when there is no longer a government that manages the country and the economy is unstable.

Everything is possible, there is no longer any limit to troubles. 

"

According to the Ministry of Health, evacuations of burns are expected to countries in the region, while the Lebanese health system is at the end of its rope.
