Keep in mind that you are not starting from scratch

"We have a wrong definition of talents, of strengths. We have the impression that if we are not Mozart, a virtuoso in a field, then it is not really a strength. A talent, in reality, is what we do easily, naturally, and which gives us energy. It requires little effort from us ... and so precisely we are not aware of it, and we do not have the impression that it has value !

We all have our areas of excellence, our talents lying dormant in us, we are not starting from zero!

What is difficult is to identify them, to activate them, in order to use them better on a daily basis.

Either in our personal or professional life

The book Activate your talents, they can change the world by Matthieu Dardaillon, co-founder of

Ticket for Change

, can help you.

For example, it offers:

- Reread his career: “When was I in my talent area?”

- Observe yourself on a daily basis: “In which situations today have I felt good / energized?”

- Perform online tests (MBTI, DISC, StrenghtFinder…) "

Ask your loved ones

"Another approach that turns out to be extremely rich is to ask your relatives. Unfortunately, we are often our worst judges! Our relatives can be those who will be the most objective concerning our strengths, who will have observed things that we are unable to see for ourselves.

This is an exercise that is offered in a large number of Ticket for Change programs and in particular the Explorations: it is quite simply to ask those close to them to identify one or more situations in which they have found us in our full potential. , where they found us “remarkable”.

Try to ask them as much detail as possible, if they can.

It can be done by email, text, or even if you're comfortable, face to face.

The important thing is that the person to whom you ask can start from a concrete example, from a real-life situation. "

Get help from qualified professionals

"Like any work on yourself, identifying and activating your talents can be a long and difficult task, even if it is well worth the effort and energy! Very often you do not know where to start and you feel alone faced with the magnitude of the task. And that's normal! So to get help, you can take a skills assessment (Ticket for Change, Switch Collective, Mon job de sens, Chance.co, So Many Ways…), have you accompanied by a coach (Institut Aristote, Coach Around the World…), a shrink, a mentor, a group of peers (makesense)… or all of this at the same time!

Whatever happens, it is a very rich job for your personal and professional life, and it is a process that we invite you to redo at several stages of your life, since fortunately we are all evolving and therefore we are there. always learning new things! "
