China News Service, August 13 (Reporter Du Yan) Since the outbreak of the current round of the epidemic in Beijing, the supply of daily necessities in the city has been stable and in good order, especially the meat, eggs, vegetables, which are of high concern to the people, and the supply is very sufficient.

Among them, the average daily sales of eggs stabilized at around 430 tons, but the price showed a seasonal increase.

Wang Hongcun, the second-level inspector of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, explained the reasons for the increase in egg prices at a press conference held today on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Beijing. .

Monitoring data show that since August of this year, the daily market volume of vegetables in the seven major wholesale markets in Beijing has stabilized at more than 23,000 tons, which is the normal level before the new crown epidemic. The wholesale price has fluctuated due to the recent high temperature and rainy weather, but the recent impact Gradually weakened, coupled with this year's production situation and supply capacity better than the same period last year, the overall level is slightly lower than the same period last year; the average daily supply of pork fluctuates around 550 tons, and the total supply on the market exceeds demand, causing the wholesale price to continue to oscillate and decline; Average daily sales have stabilized at around 430 tons, but prices have shown a seasonal increase.

Regarding the quarterly increase in egg prices, Wang Hongcun said that after the outbreak of the new round of the epidemic, the operating prices of the daily necessities market in Beijing have been generally stable. .

Vegetable prices fluctuated normally, pork prices continued to decline, but egg prices, affected by a variety of factors, showed a seasonal increase.

On August 12, compared with August 1, prices in major egg wholesale markets increased by 6.4%.

At present, the main sources of eggs in Beijing: Beijing local (accounting for 25%), Shijiazhuang, Hebei (accounting for 45%), Chengde (accounting for 10%), Cangzhou (accounting for 10%), and Jinzhou, Liaoning (accounting for 10%).

Recently, egg prices in more than 10 major egg producing provinces across the country, including Hebei and Liaoning, have risen to varying degrees. The main reasons are:

The first is the hot and humid weather from July to August, the egg production is at a low level, and the price increases quarterly.

Second, the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, moon cake manufacturers stock up in advance, and the demand for eggs has increased significantly.

Third, last year's egg prices were too low and the farms suffered losses, resulting in a slower recovery this year, leading to an overall increase in the source price of eggs.

Fourth, the cost of feed is rising.

In the first week of August, the national average corn price was 2.95 yuan/kg, up 24.5% year-on-year; the average price of soybean meal was 3.76 yuan/kg, up 14.6% year-on-year; the average price of layer compound feed was 3.36 yuan/kg, up 12.4% year-on-year.

Wang Hongcun said that as the weather turns cooler, the production capacity of laying hens is gradually recovered.
