Expo 2020 Dubai unveils “Human and Planet Earth Programme”

Expo 2020 Dubai has unveiled the “People and Planet Earth” programme, an innovative schedule of events, experiments, thought leadership dialogues and public discussions aimed at finding solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges.

Designed with and for the global community, the Man and Planet Program will harness the ability of the World Expo to mobilize energies to create a long-term legacy that spurs positive change.

The Man and Planet Program will be structured over the six-month period of Expo 2020, comprising 10 thematic weeks and 18 international days. Each of these events and events will address key issues of global importance.

During thematic weeks, participants will discuss solutions to critical global challenges, ranging from reducing climate change and biodiversity losses, to making human habitats more sustainable, to bridging the digital divide, and ensuring equal access to education and health care.

More than 220 events will take place in the course of the programme, ranging from mega forums and official conferences, to seminars and workshops.

The program includes five tracks representing a rich tapestry of exciting events, which explore the ten themes weeks from different sides: The cultural 'Bridge Building' track will break down barriers, by harnessing the power of storytelling, art and music, to promote intercultural dialogue and knowledge sharing.

The Expo's social development track, Leaving No One Behind, will highlight the importance of providing opportunities for all, by asking the following question: What can we do today to create a more equitable future?

This series will also focus specifically on gender equality and remote communities at risk of marginalization.

Climate change is the most serious threat facing our planet, and the actions we take now will affect the environment we leave for future generations.

The Living in Balance track will focus on how the international community can join forces and work together to restore equilibrium with the planet.

At a time when the winds of global economic change are blowing, the Together We Prosper track sheds light on business opportunities, and puts the concept of strong, resilient growth and fruitful partnerships at the heart of Expo 2020.

Fifty years ago, the founding fathers of the UAE set out a bold and ambitious vision to chart a new future for their people.

The fifth track, Vision 2071, focuses on the future and embodies the conviction that nothing is impossible when we stand together and work together.

Visitors will also be able to explore the topics covered in the Human and Planet Earth program, through dedicated visitor trips at Expo 2020 Dubai.

These self-guided tours, aligned with the ten thematic weeks, will be available on the Expo 2020 mobile app and will allow visitors to explore the different ways in which countries, businesses and other institutions are addressing key challenges facing the international community.

It is worth noting that Expo 2020 Dubai will start from October 1, 2021 until March 31, 2022 and coincide with the golden jubilee of the UAE. The international event will bring the world together, promoting an open global dialogue that looks to the future and addresses some of the most pressing issues facing our world today.
