The number of first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 120,000 a day yesterday (7th).

According to the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team), the number of new first doses yesterday was 12,403.

The number of new first-time inoculations decreased compared to weekdays as medical institutions and regional vaccination centers that were entrusted with vaccination closed or shortened their operating hours on weekends.

Earlier, on the 2nd to 6th, which was a weekday, the number of first new vaccinations reached 160,000 to 250,000.

The number of new primary doses for each vaccine type was 116,824 from Pfizer, 3,47 from Moderna, and 532 from AstraZeneca (AZ).

As of 00:00, the cumulative number of primary vaccinations in Korea was 28,08,244, which is 40.7% of the total population (51,349,116 as of December last year).

If you look at the cumulative number of primary doses by vaccine, 1442,292 AstraZeneca, 8,433,582 Pfizer, and 902,864 Moderna.

The number of cumulative recipients of the Janssen vaccine is 1,129,769.

Those who received the Janssen vaccine, which ends with only one dose, are reflected in both the 1st and 2nd doses.

The number of people who completed the second vaccination increased by 35,760 a day yesterday.

Of these, 33,328 were classified as Pfizer, 2,157 AstraZeneca, and 275 Moderna vaccinated persons.

However, among the 2,157 people who completed the AstraZeneca vaccination, 1,115 of them were cross-vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine for the first dose and the Pfizer vaccine for the second dose.

With this, the total number of people who have completed the second vaccination is 7,178,803, which is 15% of the population.

The cumulative number of completed vaccinations by vaccine were 4,47,389 Pfizer, 2,057,185 AstraZeneca (including 935,223 cross-vaccination), 61,460 Moderna, and the rest were vaccinated by Janssen.

For the AstraZeneca vaccine, 85.3% of the recipients (12,247,879 people) completed the first dose.

The inoculation rate up to the second round is 16.8%.

In the case of Pfizer vaccine, 84.3% of the total subjects (10,5,266) received the first dose and 44.7% completed the second dose.

With the Moderna vaccine, 45.6% of all subjects (198,863 people) completed the first dose, and the rate of vaccination until the second dose was 3.1%.

All but 35 of the subjects (1,129,804) were vaccinated with the Janssen vaccine.

Currently, there are four vaccines available in Korea: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Janssen, and Moderna.

The AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require two doses, and the Janssen vaccine ends with one dose.

The interval between vaccinations is slightly different for each type of vaccine.

AstraZeneca vaccine is recommended 8 to 12 weeks apart, Pfizer vaccine 3 weeks, Moderna vaccine 4 weeks apart, the second dose is recommended.

However, in consideration of vaccination efficiency, the Specialized Vaccination Committee adjusted the interval between the first and second vaccinations to 4 weeks for those who received the Pfizer vaccine by August (55-59 years old, those subject to in-house vaccination, etc.) The same standards were applied to those under the age of 40.
