In the cultural square in Maowan Village, Pengze County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, you can often see villagers meeting to dance the square dance in the evening.
"In the past, everyone used dry toilets to water the vegetable garden, and the smell could be smelled at the entrance of the village. It smells bad, everyone doesn't want to go out.
In order to beautify the rural environment, Pengze County launched a toilet revolution in conjunction with the improvement of the urban and rural environment, combining the renovation of dry toilets with the evaluation of beautiful villages, beautiful courtyards, and clean households, and encouraging the conversion of dry toilets to flush toilets.
Ke Peilong, secretary of the Party branch of Maowan Village, said that after the village dismantled the aqua toilet and built a sewage treatment system, the peculiar smell that had plagued the village for many years finally disappeared.
In the village, every household was decorated with blue bricks and black tiles. Everyone said that they are now living in a park.
In recent years, agricultural departments at all levels have deeply promoted the five major actions for agricultural green development and the three-year action for the improvement of rural human settlements, and solidly promoted the rural toilet revolution, rural sewage treatment and manure treatment, and the construction of rural domestic waste collection and disposal systems.
By the end of 2020, the national rural sanitary toilet penetration rate exceeded 68%. The rural domestic waste collection, transportation and disposal system covered more than 90% of administrative villages. The level of rural domestic sewage treatment continued to improve, and more than 95% of villages had carried out cleaning operations.
Accelerated development of characteristic industries
The village is revitalized and the industry is prosperous.
In the vegetable shed of Longshan Village, Yangtou Town, Pinggui District, Hezhou City, Guangxi, the colorful peppers grown by villager Ma Zhongming are growing well.
"Since the development of modern facility agriculture in the village, the environment has become more beautiful, there are more and more tourists, and the pockets of the villagers have become more and more bulging." Ma Zhongming said.
In the past, Longshan Village had a single industrial structure.
Since 2018, the introduction and promotion of Shandong Shouguang’s advanced technology and the construction of a modern facility agricultural industrial park have brought Longshan Village into a period of rapid development.
At present, more than 140 fruit and vegetable greenhouses have been built in the village, mainly for the cultivation of characteristic fruits and vegetables such as colored peppers and tomatoes. The products are exported to Beijing, Shanghai and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Villagers’ income has also increased significantly: farmers who transfer land can get a rent of 800 yuan per mu per year; the village also shares collective assets and can earn more than 50,000 yuan in dividends; villagers working on the base can earn 80 yuan per person per day.
Industrial prosperity is the foundation for increasing farmers’ income, agricultural development and rural prosperity.
However, to develop industries, we must follow the laws of rural development, adapt measures to local conditions, and find the right path.

In poverty alleviation, Yirihai Village regards rural tourism as its main industry, transferring 80 acres of land at the entrance of the village to build a flower sea base.
Nowadays, Yirihai Village receives more than 50,000 tourists every year. Not only has the income of the villagers increased substantially, but it has also attracted many migrant workers to return to their hometowns for employment and entrepreneurship.
Improving farmers' income-increasing ability and expanding farmers' income-increasing channels is inseparable from the modernization of rural infrastructure.
At present, 100% of my country's qualified organized villages have access to hardened roads, passenger cars, and postal roads. The penetration rate of rural tap water is 83%. The farmers have guaranteed safe drinking water. The proportion of administrative villages that have access to optical fiber and 4G is more than 98%.
The vitality of the elements is further released
Entering a new stage of development and comprehensively promoting rural revitalization, the biggest driving force is reform.
Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee of the Party, the Party Central Committee has comprehensively deployed and systematically promoted agricultural and rural reforms, opened roads in the mountains, built bridges in the mountains, introduced a series of major reform plans, formulated a batch of mature legal systems, and basically constructed them. The "Four Beams and Eight Pillars" to promote the healthy development of agriculture and rural areas.
On the one hand, the basic rural management system has been consolidated and improved, the registration and certification of land contractual management rights has been basically completed, 1.5 billion mu of contracted land has been confirmed to contract farmers, and nearly 200 million farmers have received land contract management rights certificates and issued certificates. On the other hand, the reform of the rural land system has continued to deepen. A new round of pilot reforms of the rural homestead system has been launched in 104 counties, municipalities, and 3 prefecture-level cities across the country. At the same time, rural collective property rights have been further clarified and farmers are guided. Develop shareholding cooperation and give farmers relevant rights and interests in rural collective asset shares.
Increasing farmers' income is an important goal for the development of new industries and formats in rural areas.
In recent years, relying on rural resources, the agricultural and rural sectors have established various forms of benefit linkage mechanisms to allow farmers to share more of the value-added benefits of the industrial chain.
According to incomplete statistics, the development of industrial integration has increased the operating income of farmers by 67%.
