The Lebanese leaders are keeping quiet, after the rocket fire claimed by Hezbollah against Israeli positions and the images showing residents intercepting the unit of the Shiite party responsible for the bombing.

President Michel Aoun took note of "

measures taken to restore calm and stability in the region

 ".

Lebanese diplomacy has decided to file a complaint with the United Nations Security Council against the Israeli bombardments on their country's soil.

Israel had made a similar recourse for firing rockets.

Many Lebanese political figures have condemned the action of Hezbollah, which according to them puts Lebanon and the population in danger.

Other more timid voices have expressed their support for the Shiite party.

On the ground, tension remains high, despite the arrest by the army of four Hezbollah fighters operating the multitube rocket launcher, which was seized.

Hezbollah supporters chased sellers of Druze figs from the town of Saida, 40 kilometers south of Beirut.

An act of retaliation after the interception, by Druze inhabitants, of the unit responsible for the rocket fire.

The Druze retaliated by attacking, in the town of Aley, 20 km south-east of Beirut, Shiite motorists, several of whom were injured.
