Satellite breeding of hairy crabs "hand in hand"

High-resolution Earth Observation System Boosts Regional Development

In recent years, news about hairy crab fraud and hype has been common.

The "bath crabs" that were transported from other places and put them in the lake water and fished out, and the "Tingtao crabs" that were only stored overnight at the lake and labeled "Tingtao crabs" kept the output figures of Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs high.

In the face of these situations, researchers from the Information Center of Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences are using remote sensing satellites to grasp the status of hairy crab farming. Helping them is the major special project of China's high-resolution earth observation system (hereinafter referred to as the high score special project).

"Jiangsu is a large crab producing province, and its output accounts for more than half of the country's total." Mao Xing, director of remote sensing big data at the Information Center of Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said, "The traditional breeding method of artificial statistics is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and it is difficult to be timely. Accurately obtain the breeding status. However, the high-score special project can provide technical support for multi-scale, full coverage, and long-term aquaculture monitoring."

Speaking of production issues, Mao Xing said that combined with some statistical data, with the assistance of remote sensing satellites, monitoring production is technically achievable.

Based on the multi-spectral data obtained by the Gaofen-2 satellite, combined with deep learning technology and computer systems, intelligent identification of the breeding area of hairy crabs can be realized.

Since the "yield per mu" of crabs under a certain breeding area is roughly determined, the total output can also be calculated.

"The hairy crab is just an example, and it can be extended to different aquaculture objects in the future." Mao Xing added.

In fact, in addition to aquatic products, cultivated land planting survey and monitoring is also one of the application directions of high-scoring special projects.

Zhang Yajun, deputy general manager of Suzhou Zhongke Tianqi Remote Sensing Technology Co., Ltd., explained that accurate crop identification is also a strength of remote sensing technology.

The company's product manager Wei Zhen took the remote sensing actuarial calculation of wheat planting subsidies in Xinyi City, Xuzhou City as an example to demonstrate the practical application of cultivated land parcel and crop identification.

This application solves the problem that all parties cannot accurately grasp the actual planting situation during the implementation of the planting subsidy policy and the amount of subsidy is unfounded. The result can also provide basic data support for the calculation of regional agricultural ecological gross production value.

Environmental monitoring is also an important application area of the high score special project.

According to the relevant person in charge of Beijing Aerospace Titan Technology Co., Ltd., the company obtains the data from the high-scoring Xuzhou data center and processes it, which can be used for ecological red line monitoring.

Peng Xiangyang, deputy director of the Gaofen Nanjing Application Center and from the 28th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group, said that the Gaofen special project has been applied to the environmental monitoring of the Yangtze River Economic Belt (Nanjing section) by integrating data from multiple sources including the Gaofen special project. , The system can realize a multi-dimensional and omnidirectional dynamic perception system for five important fields of water, gas, ship, garden and shore.

The relevant person in charge of the Jiangsu Environmental Monitoring Center said that in the field of Taihu Lake ecological environment monitoring, satellite remote sensing has become an important technical means like drones, and together they form a "water, land, air and sky" three-dimensional monitoring and monitoring system. Play a role in multiple tasks such as ground monitoring.

In Jiangsu Province, the Gaofen Special Project has built 1 data center and 4 sub-centers, which are led by Southeast University and jointly constructed and operated by the Provincial Meteorological Bureau.

Many enterprises, scientific research institutions, and universities are all beneficiaries and transformers of high-scoring special achievements. These institutions play their respective functions and advantages to form the 7 modules of Jiangsu high-scoring application products: smart city, ecological protection, and wisdom. Transportation, water conservancy and hydrology, resource survey and monitoring, smart agriculture, meteorology.

Talking about the relationship between the high-score special project and the above specific applications, the staff from the Major Special Engineering Center of the National Defense Science and Industry Bureau explained: "For example, the high-score data we provide is like food materials. The specific application is like a dish. Our expectation is that government departments and social forces can make good use of the data and do this dish well."
