Puff cake!

Anyone who believed that with increasing vaccination of the population, protective measures would become superfluous, cut themselves.

If Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) has his way, all Germans will have to wear masks when shopping, on trains and in local transport in 2022.

Spahn's wish to ensure extensive admission controls from September onwards is even more delicate: Then only those who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested should have access to hotels, indoor catering, hairdressers, fitness studios, indoor events or major events.

Now, in some cases, this already applies, but the requirements are tied to the infection situation and vary from country to country.

Increase the incentive

As right as it is to create uniform rules, it is equally questionable to enforce the conditions “regardless of the incidence”.

It would be more correct to use additional parameters to assess these and other dangerous situations, such as the location of the intensive care units.

In general, one has to ask how appropriate the restrictions are.

They interfere with the freedom of an increasing number of sensible vaccinated people because a small group of refractory people do not want to be vaccinated.

It is time to move on to individual protection: Voluntarily non-vaccinated persons do not endanger the immunized, but also themselves and other non-vaccinated persons.

You have a great responsibility also for those who cannot be protected.

Vaccinated people have in a sense transferred this responsibility to the vaccine.

Why should they, the discerning people who do not endanger anyone, wear masks all the time and pull out their vaccination certificates so that non-vaccinated people do not meet?

However, the proposal to abolish the free citizen tests and, under certain conditions, to impose contact restrictions and entry bans on non-vaccinated persons is completely correct. This is not a compulsory vaccination through the back door, but it increases the incentive to get an injection. With those who are still on the side, hops and malt are lost anyway.
