The retail price of regular gasoline, which has been rising for almost two months, has turned down for the first time in nine weeks.

This is due to the fact that the rise in crude oil prices has been stopped.

According to the Petroleum Information Center, which is commissioned by the government to investigate gasoline prices, the retail price of regular gasoline as of the 2nd was 158.2 yen per liter on a national average, a decrease of 0.2 yen from last week.

Gasoline prices have been rising for about two months since early June, but are the first to fall in nine weeks.

The factor is that the rise in crude oil prices has been stopped.

Futures prices in the New York crude oil market are often restrained from rising due to the view that the infection of the new coronavirus may spread again in the world and delay the economic recovery.

Regarding the outlook for the future, the Oil Information Center said, "The new Corona Delta stock is spreading worldwide, and it is difficult to predict the future gasoline price as to what the market will do."
