A good two weeks after the insolvency of the Munich catering entrepreneur Alfons Schuhbeck, the employees can breathe a sigh of relief.

The restaurants and party service of the prominent star chef will continue, and the wages for the total of around 120 employees in all companies are secured through pre-financing of the insolvency money up to and including September with the approval of the Employment Agency.

This was announced on Tuesday by Max Liebig from the Jaffé law firm, who was appointed insolvency administrator by the Munich District Court. According to its own information, Liebig is already holding initial talks with potential investors about possible renovation solutions. "At the current early stage, no concrete results for the efforts in this regard are foreseeable," said the law firm. Schuhbeck is said to have filed for bankruptcy for his spice trade, which he initially wanted to keep out of bankruptcy.

Tax investigations have been going on for some time against the 72-year-old Schuhbeck. And the Federal Office of Justice is also taking action against the Munich celebrity chef because he should not have published any annual reports since 2017. Since this violates the disclosure requirements stipulated in the Commercial Code for several types of companies, the Bonn authority has initiated administrative fine proceedings.
