The corresponding statement is posted on the official website of the Russian regulator.

"The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia has decided to increase the premiums to the risk ratios for unsecured consumer loans in rubles provided from October 1, 2021," the publication said.

The National Bureau of Credit Histories previously reported that in the first six months of 2021, domestic banks issued 7.62 million consumer loans.

Earlier it was reported that from July 1, the Bank of Russia will tighten regulation of the issuance of unsecured consumer loans, returning their level to "pre-pandemic values."
