The person in charge said that in the first half of this year, the volume and quality of China's online retail market continued to improve.

  According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the national online retail sales in the first half of the year reached 6.11 trillion yuan, an increase of 23.2% year-on-year, and an average increase of 15.0% in two years. Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods was 5.03 trillion yuan, an increase of 18.7% year-on-year, an average of two years. An increase of 16.5%, accounting for 23.7% of the total retail sales of consumer goods, an increase of 3 percentage points from the beginning of the year, and its contribution to the growth of total retail sales of consumer goods reached 20%.

  According to the monitoring of business big data, the national online retail market mainly showed the following characteristics in the first half of the year:

  First, the consumption upgrade momentum continues.

Healthy consumption has become increasingly popular, with sales of related sporting goods such as swimming, football, and yoga increasing by 128.9%, 106.2%, and 55.1% respectively year-on-year.

The popularity of "Xin Guochao" increased. During the "618" promotion on the relevant e-commerce platform, domestic brands accounted for more than 70% of sales.

  Second, online service consumption continued to recover.

Online catering consumption picked up, with sales increasing by 48.2% year-on-year, of which in-store catering increased by 93.1% year-on-year.

Online travel sales increased by 71.6% year-on-year.

  The third is the rapid growth in the western region.

In the first half of the year, online retail sales in the western region increased by 32.1% year-on-year, and the growth rate was faster than that of the country for five consecutive months; online retail sales in the central, eastern, and northeastern regions increased by 21.5%, 20.3%, and 13.0% year-on-year, respectively.

  The fourth is the rapid development of rural e-commerce.

In the first half of the year, the national rural online retail sales reached 954.93 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.6%; among them, the rural physical goods online retail sales were 866.31 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.0%.

The upward trend of agricultural products continued to recover, and the national online retail sales of agricultural products reached 208.82 billion yuan.

  Fifth, cross-border e-commerce is gaining momentum.

According to customs statistics, the import and export volume of cross-border e-commerce in the first half of the year reached 886.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.6%.

Among them, exports were 603.6 billion yuan, an increase of 44.1%; imports were 283.1 billion yuan, an increase of 4.6%.

Business big data monitoring of key cross-border e-commerce import platforms shows that imports of goods originating from Japan, the United States, and South Korea rank among the top three.

  Sixth, the business model continues to innovate.

New models such as live e-commerce, reverse customization, and instant delivery are developing well, and multi-level and personalized consumer needs are met.
