Toyota Motor will suspend production line operations at two plants in Aichi Prefecture for up to four days in early August due to delays in parts procurement due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Vietnam. It was decided.

Some production lines at the Tahara Plant of Toyota Motors in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture, and all production lines at the Yoshiwara Plant of the group company Toyota Auto Body in Toyota City will be shut down.

Of these, the Tahara Plant will be shut down for four days from August 3rd, and the Yoshiwara Plant will be shut down for two days from August 5th.

The company says that the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Vietnam affected the production of local business partners and delayed the procurement of parts, so the company decided to suspend operations.

These production lines manufacture the luxury car brand "Lexus" and Land Cruiser, and the company says that it will affect the production of about 5,000 units.

Automakers continue to reduce production due to the shortage of semiconductors, but there are concerns about the impact on production due to the spread of infection in Southeast Asia, where many parts manufacturers have production bases.
