The results of a survey show that workplace bullying was rampant on Naver, where the death of a worker who was presumed to have been bullied at work in May.



The Ministry of Employment and Labor conducted a survey of 1,900 employees during the Naver special labor supervision period from the 9th of last month to the 23rd of last month. said that it reached 52.7%.



10.5% of the respondents said that they had repeatedly experienced workplace harassment at least once a week for the past 6 months.



44.1% of respondents who said they had experienced bullying at work responded 'Most of them endure alone' as a response to bullying, and 59.9% answered that 'even if they respond, it cannot be solved'.



The allegation of workplace harassment against Naver employee A, who died in May, was also confirmed as true.



The Labor Ministry said, "It has been confirmed that the deceased worker continued to suffer verbal abuse and insults from his direct supervisor, was intentionally excluded from the decision-making process, and suffered from excessive work pressure."



Several employees, including the deceased, raised the issue of workplace harassment to the chief operating officer, an executive, but it was found that Naver did not investigate the facts.



In addition, Naver has not properly paid 8.67 billion won in overtime, night and holiday work allowances to current and former employees over the past three years.It was also discovered that 12 pregnant workers were forced to work overtime.



The Ministry of Labor plans to take measures such as sending Naver to the prosecution and imposition of fines for violations of the Labor Law.
