Tesla stock was among the winners on Monday on a hesitant Wall Street in the run-up to the quarterly figures that the maker of electric cars will release after the close of stock market trading.

It will be a busy week for the stock markets in New York, with results from the major tech funds Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft and Google parent Alphabet, and a Federal Reserve interest rate decision.

Tesla closed more than 2 percent higher.

CEO Elon Musk's company previously reported that it had produced and delivered more than 200,000 cars in the past quarter.

This further increased production compared to the first three months of this year.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.2 percent higher at 35,144.31 points.

The broad S&P 500 rose 0.2 percent to 4422.30 points and the technology exchange Nasdaq remained virtually unchanged at 14,840.71 points.
