Based on the volume of imports over the past year, the European tax will affect the supply of Russian goods to the EU in the amount of about € 7 billion, which is 7.3% of the total imports of goods from Russia to the European Union in 2020.

For Russia, the tax will actually be equivalent to an additional ad valorem duty of 16% of the value of goods - € 1.1 billion from € 7 billion.

The largest amounts will be assigned for the import of iron and steel from Russia - this is about € 655 million, and the import of nitrogen fertilizers will cost € 398 million.

The Ministry of Economic Development said earlier that the measures planned by the European Union on carbon regulation may affect the supply of metals, pipes, electricity and cement from Russia.
