An automotive pioneer, mother of a few reputedly indestructible engines and a major player in the popularization of diesel, Mercedes can do nothing against political pressure and has just announced that it too will become 100% electric in the relatively near future.

The date announced is 2025. Mercedes specifies all the same: this does not mean that there will be no more heat engine in the catalog from 2025, but that the engineers will stop pursuing their development.

After that, they will therefore have a few years of career left before the final fall of the curtain.

In the meantime, Mercedes will also launch many electrified models, partially or totally.

The entire range should be covered by 2022. Finally, the manufacturer unveiled a concept called Vision EQXX.

To develop it, Mercedes has created a team made up of engineers from F1, among others, and their mission is as follows: to achieve 1,000 km of real autonomy, without increasing the size of the batteries.

Clearly the objective is therefore to significantly increase the energy density of the latter.
