Toyota Motor has decided to suspend the operation of its factory in Aichi prefecture for five days from the end of this month due to the delay in parts procurement due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Vietnam.

According to the announcement, some production lines of the group company "Toyota Auto Body" Fujimatsu Plant in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture will be shut down.

It means that it will be out of operation for 5 days from the 29th of this month.

Toyota procures parts from a manufacturer in Vietnam, but the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Vietnam has affected production and has delayed procurement.

This production line is making the "Alphard" minivan, and the company says that it will affect the production of about 3000 units.

For automakers, the spread of the new corona infection in Southeast Asia may overlap with the continued reduction in production due to the shortage of semiconductors, which may have a serious impact on production.
