“Despite attempts to politicize a project beneficial for Europeans, disrupting its implementation in its own geopolitical and economic interests, which Washington is actively pursuing, Nord Stream 2 will soon come into operation,” RIA Novosti quotes her.



She noted that the project "meets international law, as well as EU regulatory requirements."

Also, according to her, all work and processes are carried out in accordance with the laws of the coastal states.

“No matter how strange decisions are made under US pressure, as was the case in the recent US-German negotiations, they are not able to change the objective reality of the completion of this large-scale project,” Zakharova emphasized.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas commented on the agreements between Germany and the United States on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

It was also reported that German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, as well as the implementation of Nord Stream 2.
