He said that "the document is filled with odious passages about the" aggression and destructive activities "of Russia."

Nechaev noted that "Russia has never used energy as a" weapon "and an instrument of pressure."

“We believe this style of international communication is unacceptable,” the ambassador said.

According to him, "Russia is not a country to which one can issue ultimatums, make decisions for it, or haughtily impose duties on it."

“We are able to determine our policy, including energy policy, sovereignly, without outside interference, based on our own interests and the experience of many years of mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners,” the diplomat added.

Earlier, US Undersecretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland said that the United States had reached an agreement with Germany on Nord Stream 2. 

The Kremlin press service spoke about the conversation between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the implementation of Nord Stream 2.
