This is the kind of "barn exit" that all enthusiasts dream of.

On August 14 and 15, during a sale of the Gooding house organized as part of the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach (USA), a practically new Jaguar E-Type will be offered.

It had been bought new in 1965 and traveled some 8,000 miles (12,800 km), before being put in the garage in 1972, where it was forgotten until the beginning of this year.

With its 4.2-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine, this first-series E-Type Roadster is one of the most popular with connoisseurs.

And this will be particularly the case of this one, because the strictly original and well preserved copies are extremely rare.

Because here, everything is just as it left the factory: the Blaupunkt radio, the soft top, the paintwork, the engine and the gearbox, and even the vintage Dunlop tires.

Gooding estimates the car between $ 250,000 and $ 350,000 and when the hammer falls, the new owner will have a dilemma: restore it to its luster, or leave it as it was found?
