It was originally codenamed AM-RB 003. RB for Red Bull, since the British manufacturer and the F1 team were closely linked when the project was launched.

But circuit rival Mercedes has since acquired 20% of Aston Martin.

The car was therefore given the more poetic name of Valhalla which, in Norse mythology, designates the paradise of the bravest warriors.

If the Valhalla is a big novelty in the history of the brand, it is because it is the very first production Aston Martin to receive the engine not at the front, but in the central position.

The engine was originally intended to be a "house" V6, but it will eventually be an original Mercedes-AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.

It alone develops 750 hp, to which are added the 200 hp provided jointly by two electric motors, this hypercar being a hybrid.

Total: 950 hp for 1,550 kilos.

The Aston Martin Valhalla thus kills 0-100 km / h in 2.5 seconds, and peaks at 330 km / h.

In short, by its definition and its figures, the Aston Martin Valhalla is a rival to the Ferrari SF90, which announces 1,000 hp.

A nice match in perspective ...
