Emirates Airlines celebrates 3 decades of starting its services to Lebanon

Emirates Airlines celebrates the 30th anniversary of the start of its service to Beirut. Since the launch of its first flight in 1991, it has transported more than six million passengers on about 35,000 flights between Beirut and Dubai, which contributed to supporting the tourism trade movement in Lebanon. Spreading Lebanese culture and traditions across the world.

To celebrate this landmark event, Tamader Dalal Quwatli, Emirates Regional Director for the Levant, who has joined the Emirates team in Lebanon since launching the airline’s operations in 1991, said: “Our commitment to our customers, over the past 30 years and up to Today, it has not changed, and we are still striving to provide the best amenities, hospitality services and innovative technology on aircraft to provide the best customer experience and facilitate the follow-up of their flights through Dubai to other destinations, especially with the presence of Lebanese communities around the world.”

Emirates employees who were part of the launch team recall the event, with Emirates Deputy Director of Airport Services, Margaret Keyrouz, saying: “I can remember the feeling of pride when I put on the Emirates uniform, my excitement for the next adventure, and the awe that overwhelmed me with the power of the aircraft. You land at our airport, and I still have that feeling today."

For her part, the responsible for airport services at Emirates Airlines in Beirut, Raghda Zerkut, said: "I still remember the first day working at the airport. It has been 30 years and I am proud to be part of the Emirates Airline team.”

To celebrate this occasion, Emirates Airlines will offer traditional Lebanese dishes on its flights between Dubai and Beirut in the coming days, such as Maqluba meat, Sayadiya fish, strawberry kunafa dessert, kunafa and traditional baklava decorated with the Lebanese flag.

In addition, the menus offered by the airline to first class and business travelers on the network include Middle Eastern appetizers, some of which are inspired by Lebanese cuisine.

In March 2018, Emirates Airlines became the first airline to operate the double-decker Airbus A380 to Rafic Hariri International Airport, which constituted a historic moment for both the airline and the airport.
