Abu Dhabi Ports Company announced yesterday the development of a classification program for labor housing complexes in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, in a move aimed at supporting economic development, the growth of industrial and commercial capabilities enjoyed by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and helping companies find housing solutions tailored to their employees.

Abu Dhabi Ports said in a statement that the program, which is the first of its kind in the UAE, unifies the standards required to evaluate labor housing complexes in accordance with international standards and requirements, enabling companies to make accurate data-based decisions in developing housing solutions for employees.

She added that the new system evaluates residential complexes from one to five stars, based on the amenities they include, such as services, catering facilities, places of worship, entertainment facilities, Internet access, health services, and others.

The Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labor Committee in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Muhammad Ali Al-Shurafa, said, "The Abu Dhabi economy enjoys a unique position and high competitiveness in many areas, thanks to the outstanding performance of the non-oil sectors whose contributions exceed more than 50% of the output The emirate's gross domestic product.

He added: "Abu Dhabi continues its steps towards becoming a regional and global center for industry through the continuous growth that has been achieved during the past five years, thanks to the choice of many companies and manufacturers of the emirate as their headquarters."

Al-Shurafa added, "There is no doubt that our partners such as (Abu Dhabi Ports) are a major driver of this progress."

For his part, Chief Executive Officer of "Abu Dhabi Ports", Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamsi, said, "The new labor housing complex classification program comes to provide companies with a clear and transparent approach, and gives them the information they need, in order to enhance confidence when making decisions related to housing their employees." .
