Meat More than 3,000 companies and 2.5 million jobs: this is the industry that Minister Garzón has put in check
The national deputy of the PP for Granada
Pablo Hispán
has reported this Sunday the registration of a non-law proposal for Congress to agree to the
disapproval of the Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón
, for his campaign against the excessive consumption of meat.
Hispán has reiterated the firm support of the Popular Group in the Congress of Deputies for the sector and has rejected what it considers "unfortunate statements and campaigns" by Garzón.
At this point, he has insisted that the
popular
deputies
will continue working with initiatives in defense of the interests of a sector that means a lot for Spain, Andalusia and Granada, where he has highlighted autochthonous breeds such as the Segureño lamb.
The PP will work for
a "strong, powerful and viable" sector,
favoring that people can live from agriculture and livestock, as reported this Sunday in a statement.
"We are facing a government that not only kills the sector with
a bad negotiation of the CAP
, but also finishes it off with initiatives to promote the non-consumption of meat," Hispán has criticized, according to the Efe agency.
The Popular Parliamentary Group in the Congress of Deputies has registered a Non-Law Proposal for the Lower House to agree to the disapproval of Minister Garzón,
"for the contempt
he has expressed towards the agri-food sector and having used public resources to start a campaign of discredit and criminalization of the same ", has indicated.
Through this initiative, the popular also urge the Government to withdraw the campaign promoted by the Ministry of Consumption to reduce the consumption of meat, and to support the responsible consumption of meat as an element of a healthy and balanced diet, the Mediterranean diet.
