The acting CEO of Gulf Craft, Abeer Al Shaali, said that the recovery of the yachting industry in the UAE is supported by the increase in the number of wealthy people in the country, who are considered the target group of this industry.

Al-Shaali added, in statements to "Emirates Today", that the UAE topped the list of the richest countries in the Middle East and North Africa, according to many reports issued by international institutions, as one of the largest safe economic havens in the region, which contributed to the recovery of yacht sales in the country. .

She indicated that the company is working to enhance its presence in the Emirate of Dubai with the return of marine activities offered by the marinas, in an effort to take advantage of the emirate's position as a regional center for the yachting and boating community.

Al-Shaali explained that the volume of demand for the company’s multi-use “Nomad” yachts with long sailing distances, designed to meet the lifestyles that sailors and lovers of marine adventures aspire to, doubled during the pandemic period, compared to previous years, due to the privacy it provides for families, in addition. into the elements of security and safety.

She stated that the company aims to continue its expansion plan from its office in Port Rashid with the aim of providing better services to customers in their locations, with a special offer for anyone wishing to purchase a "Nomad" yacht, which is for a full year without rent, and some additional free services as well.

Al-Shaali pointed out that Port Rashid is considered one of the best places that provides integrated services to yacht customers, so the company chose this place to launch its campaign for sales of the Nomad yacht, explaining that the company's production volume of this category of yachts reaches five yachts annually.

She stated that the pandemic negatively affected the company's sales, but despite that, the company did not dispense with any employee, and work and manufacturing were not stopped until sales returned to pre-pandemic levels.

Al-Shaali said that after the company reduced the salaries of employees during the pandemic, it brought them back to pre-pandemic levels, but she pointed out that some employees who traveled and were unable to enter the country were dispensed with, due to procedures specific to “Corona” in their country.

She explained that the culture of customers changed in the post-pandemic stage in light of the change in some special laws and rules, noting that the company's launch of the largest yacht in the world with a purely Emirati industry indicates recovery.

Gulf Craft said that it built eight yachts during 2019, and the volume of production remained at the same level or slightly more in 2020.

She explained that the company is scheduled to produce more than 10 yachts, noting that the demand for large yachts has returned with the increasing number of wealthy people in Dubai and the country as a whole, coinciding with the approaching launch of the "Expo 2020 Dubai", which increased the demands to the maximum levels.
