　　As of the close of the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 448.23 points to close at 34870.16 points, an increase of 1.30%; the S&P 500 stock index rose 48.73 points to close at 4,369.55 points, an increase of 1.13%; the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 142.13 Points to close at 14701.92 points, an increase of 0.98%.

　　In terms of sectors, the eleven sectors of the S&P 500 index rose across the board.

Among them, the financial sector, the materials sector and the energy sector led the gains by 2.87%, 2.01% and 2.01% respectively, and the utility sector saw the smallest gains of 0.16%.
