On June 30, in Muli County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, the Yalong River Yangfanggou Hydropower Station was officially connected to the grid for power generation.

This is China's first million-kilowatt EPC hydropower project.

  The Yalong River originates from the southern foot of the Bayan Har Mountain on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is the largest tributary of the Jinsha River. It flows through Ganzi Prefecture, Liangshan Prefecture, and Panzhihua City in Sichuan Province. The main stream is 1,571 kilometers in length and has a natural drop of 3,830 meters. Large hydropower base.

  Yangfanggou Hydropower Station is located in the middle reaches of the Yalong River, with a dam height of 155 meters, a total installed capacity of 1.5 million kilowatts, and a total investment of about 20 billion yuan. Construction started in July 2015 and the gate was closed for water storage at the end of December 2020.

Among China's million-kilowatt hydropower projects, Yangfanggou Hydropower Station took the lead in adopting the EPC (General Contracting for Design and Construction) model.
