The team, which was challenging the world record of mileage with a hydrogen-filled fuel cell vehicle made in Fukushima Prefecture, set a new record by traveling 1040 km, which is 37 km higher than the previous record.

This challenge was sponsored by motor journalist Mitsuhiro Kunisawa, and on the 28th, a hydrogen-filled fuel cell vehicle made in Fukushima Prefecture departed from Iwaki City.

The world record for a fuel cell vehicle to run with a single hydrogen filling is said to be 1003 kilometers, which was recorded in France by researchers, and this time the goal is to exceed this record.

By the 29th, 10 drivers took turns driving all night in Tokyo, and 25 hours after the start, it exceeded 1003km around 2:00 pm on the 29th.

Then, at 3:00 pm, we arrived at the hydrogen station in Toyosu, Tokyo, where the hydrogen fuel was almost exhausted, and achieved a new record of 1040 km, which is 37 km higher than the previous record.

Mr. Kunisawa commented, "It was a difficult condition to set a record due to the bad weather, but I am very happy that we all managed to set a wonderful record."
