Mohammed bin Rashid approves the Board of Directors and Advisory Board of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the Board of Directors and Advisory Board of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three Dubai Chambers of Commerce, after the new restructuring, as part of an approach aimed at enabling the Chamber's role in carrying out its main tasks aimed at strengthening Consolidating Dubai’s position as the capital of finance and business in the region, representing, supporting and protecting the interests of Dubai-based companies, improving the business environment in Dubai and enhancing its reputation as the most attractive regionally and internationally in the region, and providing technical, logistical, legislative and enabling support for companies and entrepreneurs.

His Highness also approved the establishment of an advisory council for the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is to provide support, guidance and empowerment, technically, logistically and legislatively, to facilitate the work of the members of the Chamber's board of directors, and help them translate the tasks and responsibilities of the Chamber and perform its role to the fullest.

Within the new structure, there will be an advisory council attached to each of the three Dubai Chambers, so that the role of advisory councils is to fully represent and effectively empower business sectors in Dubai, and provide support and advice to chambers’ boards of directors by providing expertise in their main business topics, as well as conveying the needs of The economic sectors to ensure their inclusion in the recommendations submitted to the chambers’ boards of directors, and to support the chambers by proposing solutions to the most important issues and topics raised.

The duties of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce include: representing, supporting and protecting the interests of all Dubai-based companies; and acting as a link between Dubai companies and the Dubai government to convey proposals for opportunities and solutions in order to improve the business environment in Dubai; promoting attracting investments and establishing companies in Dubai in coordination with other chambers; forming specialized work teams to provide support and innovative solutions to companies in Dubai in the areas of marketing, capacity building and others; Providing advice and support to members of the Chamber and guiding them with regard to procedures and information to protect their rights and develop their businesses.

Last March, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the restructuring of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and the formation of three chambers for the emirate, including: the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Dubai International Chamber, and the Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, including the governance of the chambers and defining their frameworks and tasks according to an integrative approach.
