In June 2021, in Russia, the number of vacancies with a remote work schedule doubled compared to the same period in 2020.

Such data were provided to RT by Avito Rabota specialists.

“The most active employers publish offers with remote employment in such areas as IT, Internet and telecom.

They account for 25% of all remote jobs.

The positions of call center operators, Internet sales specialists, dispatchers or consultants are mainly represented here, ”said Artyom Kumpel, Managing Director of Avito Rabota.

Also, a large number of offers with distance employment were noted in the categories "education, advanced training, trainings" and "finance, accounting".

Analysts of the SuperJob service told RT about this.

According to the company, most often employers from large cities with a population of one million are ready to take an employee remotely.

“Thanks to the spread of this form of work, regional specialists, for example programmers, can apply for vacancies in any city.

Against this background, the level of wages in the regions of the country is beginning to approach Moscow, ”said Natalya Golovanova, head of the SuperJob research center.

The increased popularity of remote operation is associated with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, notes Artyom Kumpel.

According to him, against the background of the quarantine restrictions, large companies were able to establish mechanisms for interaction with employees in the changed conditions.

“Organizations saw an increase in employee productivity and loyalty, and employers saw lower rental and maintenance costs.

Even some industrial enterprises were able to rebuild and release some of the workers who were not standing at the machine to a remote location, although a couple of years ago they could not even imagine such a thing, ”the expert noted.

According to Avito Rabota's estimates, over the past year, the interest of Russians themselves in remote access has also noticeably increased (by 41%).

First of all, such employment is in demand among sales specialists (demand increased by 62%) and IT (56%).

“People began to spend more time with their families, save on meals and travel, and do not spend hours standing in traffic jams.

Moreover, Russians working remotely are less likely to catch the virus, ”-

added Kumpel.

SuperJob specialists also record a steady growth in performance.

According to the company, the number of applicants applying for remote work has almost tripled compared to the pre-crisis values of June 2019.

Note that on January 1, 2021, a law regulating remote work came into force in Russia.

According to the document, the fulfillment of his duties by an employee remotely can occur on an ongoing basis (during the entire duration of the employment contract) or temporarily, that is, continuously for up to six months.

The law also provides for the alternation of retirement and employment at a stationary workplace.

The actions of the authorities are designed to protect the rights of both parties to the agreement and help Russians understand the intricacies of the new form of work.

Mikhail Kogan, head of the analytical research department of the Higher School of Financial Management, spoke about this in an interview with RT.

According to the expert, the employee also has the opportunity to organize the day at his own discretion, since the employer will not look at the hours of the subordinate's presence at the monitor, but at the quality of the assigned tasks.

“By and large, the rights of a remote employee should not differ from the rights of those who work directly in the office of the company.

Given that the fight against coronavirus in the world is still underway, this form of employment will continue to gain popularity, ”the specialist noted.

Moreover, the high demand for telecommuting in Russia could lead to an increase in the number of self-employed in the country.

This opinion was shared with RT by the head of the analytical direction of the AMarkets department Artyom Deev.

According to the latest data from the Federal Tax Service, since the beginning of 2021, the number of registered self-employed Russians has grown by 1 million and reached 2.5 million.

“Companies are willing to hire such specialists, since this form of cooperation allows the employer to reduce production costs through short-term contracts.

Moreover, the company does not need to register an employee on the staff, pay sick leaves and issue vacation pay, ”Deev explained.

According to experts, in addition to remote work, a hybrid form of employment is also gaining popularity in Russia.

According to a study by the consulting company BCG and the alliance of recruiting services The Network, about 60% of Russians want to get a position in the future where they can work from home at least from time to time.

“We are steadily moving towards hybrid office work formats, when an employee works most of the time from home and comes to the company several times a week.

Home office mode is one of the trends of 2021, ”concluded Artyom Kumpel.
