China News Service, Guangzhou, June 28 (Cai Minjie and Jiang Zhongqiang) The north section of the Guangzhou Xinzhou-Hualong Expressway was completed and opened to traffic on the 28th, marking the rapid opening of Xinhua across the board. This move will improve Guangzhou and the major cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The road network is connected, and citizens can save about 20 minutes from Guangzhou to Shenzhen, Zhongshan, and Zhuhai.

The Xinhua Express Route is about 11 kilometers in length, starting from Xingang East Road, passing through Haizhu, Huangpu and Panyu Districts, and finally to Hualong Interchange, which is interconnected with Guangao Expressway, East Second Ring Expressway, and Guangzhou-Taiwan Expressway.

The project has 8 bridges, 4 interchanges, Changzhou Island toll stations and 2 ramp toll stations in Sixian and Xingye.

The project is divided into two sections, the south and the north. The southern section (Changzhou to Hualong section) was officially opened to traffic in January 2017; the northern section (Xinzhou to Changzhou section), which was completed and opened to traffic this time, has a total length of 3.9 kilometers. The design speed is 60 kilometers per hour.

Xinhua Express, as an important part of the main backbone network of roads in southern Guangzhou and the connecting line of the Panyu-Nansha East Expressway (planned) into the central city of Guangzhou, is essential for improving the access system of Guang’ao and other expressways, and building Nansha to Guangzhou’s city center. The "Golden Triangle" fast passage is of great significance to further promote the construction of Guangzhou's national central city and the interconnection of infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

After the full line of the project is opened, there will also be a new south passage in Guangzhou city to ease the traffic pressure on the Guangzhou-Aozhou Expressway, Nansha Port Express and the Guanzhou Tunnel in University Town.

At the same time, a new route from eastern Guangzhou to Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Zhuhai and other places has been opened, which is expected to save 15 to 20 minutes by car. For example, it only takes 30 minutes from Xingang East Road via Xinhua Expressway and Guangao Expressway to Nansha Bridge.
