With decarbonization becoming a major issue in the industrial world, major distribution companies and major telecommunications companies have begun efforts to supply electricity used at convenience stores from solar power plants for a long period of time.

Seven & i Holdings has signed a long-term contract for the first time to receive electricity for 20 years from a dedicated solar power plant developed by the NTT Group, and has recently begun using it at 40 convenience stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area. ..

On the 28th, the presidents of both companies attended and opened the new solar power plant in Chiba City to the press.

With decarbonization becoming a major issue in the industrial world, Seven & i has set a goal of virtually zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.

This initiative will help Seven & i to secure electricity from renewable energy, while NTT has the advantage of recovering the cost of investing in power plants, and this initiative will be applied to other companies as well. It will be noticed if it spreads.

Mayumi Tsuriyu, executive officer of Seven & i, said, "We would like to continue our efforts so that other stores nationwide can also utilize electricity from renewable energy."
