The Bank of Spain will pay almost one million euros to four travel agencies that

will make apartments on the Spanish coast available to their employees

for the 2021 summer season, after having canceled the call for the 2020 season due to the coronavirus.

According to the contract consulted by Europa Press, the Bank of Spain

has contracted almost 100 two- and three-bedroom apartments

that its employees will be able to enjoy this summer, located in different areas of the provinces of Pontevedra, Lugo, Cantabria, Asturias, Gerona , Castellón, Alicante, Valencia, Malaga and Cádiz.

Initially, the Bank of Spain

offered the hiring of 123 apartments

distributed in 15 lots, although two of them, which included 12 apartments in the Zahara de los Atunes area (Cádiz) and 15 in the Isla Canela area (Huelva) they have been deserted.

Among the four companies that will be in charge of providing these services, the one that has been awarded lots for the largest amount is

Viajes Olympia

.

This agency has obtained six packages, for which the Bank of Spain will pay 425,134 euros.

In total, there are 53 apartments distributed between Torrox (Málaga), Cádiz (Cádiz), Costa Ballena (Cádiz), Alicante (Alicante), Llanes (Asturias) and Foz (Lugo).

For its part, Eralis Inversiones has been awarded five lots in Vivero (Lugo), San Vicente de la Barquera (Cantabria), El Estartit (Gerona), Oropesa (Castellón) and Calpe (Alicante).

There are 35 apartments for which the Bank of Spain will pay 253,451 euros.

On the other hand, a lot of four apartments has been awarded in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra)

Viajes El Corte Inglés, to which the Bank of Spain will pay about 20,885 euros

, while Halcón Viajes has been awarded a lot of four apartments in Gandía (Valencia ) for 30,107 euros.

For the award, the Bank of Spain has not only taken into account that the price was the most competitive, since this criterion had a weight of 30%.

Other criteria to assess were that the apartments had air conditioning, that they had views of the sea

or garden areas and a swimming pool, that they had a terrace with at least one table and umbrella or that they were less than 100 meters from the beach.

Last year the Bank of Spain launched a similar tender, which was finally canceled and declared unfeasible due to the coronavirus pandemic, mainly due to limitations for the movement of people between provinces for leisure reasons.
