The Vice President and CEO of the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, received the German Ambassador to the country, Ernst Peter Fischer, who stressed that the UAE has all the competitive ingredients to attract German and international direct investments, especially in the sectors of advanced technology and renewable energy.
The German ambassador was briefed on the advanced infrastructure included in the Oasis, the Dubai Digital Park, and the Dubai Technology Center for Entrepreneurship (Dtec), as well as the vital work environments, the diverse options, creative free spaces and designs that allow the application of new and promising ideas and innovations, compatible with the future economy in the Oasis. Which includes the regional headquarters of many international companies of different nationalities, including German companies such as: "Porsche", "Wacker Chemicals", "Henkel", and "Jezeke Different".
Fisher listened to a detailed explanation of the advanced facilities that provide smart services in the "Dubai Digital Park", which was opened by Dubai Silicon Oasis in early 2021 with investments exceeding 1.5 billion dirhams. He also visited the new campus of the "Rochester University of Technology - Dubai" specialized in technology, and was briefed on The innovation labs that it houses after the completion of the first phase of building its new campus in the Oasis.
The German ambassador stressed that the UAE has all the competitive ingredients to attract German and international direct investments, especially in the sectors of advanced technology and renewable energy.
He noted that Dubai Silicon Oasis provides an integrated technological infrastructure and a vital enabling environment for entrepreneurs and emerging projects that form the backbone of the digital economy, provide new job opportunities, and enhance the resilience of economic sectors to restore sustainable growth paths.
For his part, Vice President and CEO of the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, stressed that Dubai, with its integrated business environment, has established its position as a global destination for technology companies, including German companies looking for a supportive environment for innovation.
He added: "The volume of trade exchange between Dubai and Germany reached Dh24.6 billion in 2020, and it is in continuous and sustainable growth due to the procedures for facilitating the establishment and conduct of business provided by the flexible business system in Dubai, as well as in the Dubai Silicon Oasis, which attracts hundreds of international and emerging technology companies for what it is. It provides facilities.
Al Zarouni stressed the Oasis’s commitment to continue its efforts to provide a supportive environment for German and international companies to establish their businesses, in addition to providing support and an environment that stimulates creativity for entrepreneurs to establish their innovative and creative projects in emerging and existing technology disciplines, from its position as a center for knowledge and innovation in the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.
