Jebel Ali Free Zone "Jafza", within the portfolio of "DP World - Emirates Region", recorded a 12% growth in its customer base in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector between 2019-2020.

Jafza said in a statement yesterday that the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries are among the most important sectors contributing to it, and one of the economic pillars in the free zone, pointing out that it extends over an area of ​​about 170 square kilometers, and currently includes 174 companies from 41 countries, providing Job opportunities for about 1100 employees.

Jafza indicated that the sector's trade volume in 2019 reached about 25,000 metric tons, with a value of about 900 million dirhams.

Jebel Ali Port also contributes to supporting the pharmaceutical trade with its temperature-controlled warehouses, in addition to being equipped with more than 10,000 points to operate refrigerated containers distributed across its terminals. Jafza offers many incentives, including the provision of on-demand warehouses with short-term lease contracts, multiple storage options, as well as no value-added tax or customs duties. Cost-effective transportation services also help speed up deliveries for the benefit of companies operating in Jebel Ali.
